Robinson Iron has always prided itself on being a family company. Family in a literal sense as there are more than a few owners with that surname now, but even more accurately “family” in a figurative manner.
Many employees at Robinson have been with the company several years- if not several decades. Contrary to the old adage, that familiarity has never bred contempt. Rather, it has produced a comfortable work environment built on trust amongst colleagues and a passion for the craft.
Therefore, it is with great sadness that Robinson Iron announces the retirement of one of the company’s most beloved and valued team members, W. Wayne Fuller.
Wayne has been at Robinson Iron since 1981 and has helped the company grow from a trailer parked in the far corner of its parent company- Robinson Foundry- to one of the most recognizable names in the cast metal restoration industry.
In his 34 years as Marketing Manager, lead designer, exquisite sculptor, master finisher and overall problem solver, Wayne had a hand in projects from coast to coast and around the globe. His handiwork can be seen on historic buildings like the US Capitol or on treasured fountains like Forsythe Park’s in Savannah, GA.
For Wayne, no challenge was too great or too small. More importantly, no detail was overlooked. Wayne took immense pride in his work no matter the task- and Wayne certainly had many tasks to accomplish!
While “sadness” was used to describe the company-wide feeling regarding Wayne’s well-earned departure earlier, there is also a universal sense of pride. Robinson Iron is so thrilled that Wayne Fuller has been a member of its family so long and we all wish him the best moving forward.
