Restoration of hotel canopy / July 2009
Thomas Jefferson Award for Historic Preservation 2004
National Trust for Historic Preservation Honor Award 2006
A cantilevered custom cast aluminum canopy by Robinson Iron extends over the newly restored entrance of the Jefferson Hotel. A design motif found in the hotel’s limestone façade inspired the cresting’s wave pattern. Features designed into the structure include provisions for heating, lighting and sound. An ornamental pressed metal ceiling completes the effect.
