Cast Iron Replica of Historic Transit Station / April 1985
Working only with historic photographic images, Robinson Iron’s craftsmen designed the steel armature; detailed and sculpted ornamentation; cast and fabricated materials for the production of a replica of Heins & Lafarge’s 1904 transit kiosk. A significant application of Robinson Iron’s capabilities was the requirement to maintain the integrity of the original design and scale, yet built the replica slightly larger than the original to accommodate a modern flow of pedestrian traffic.
